Position Summary
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about working with cutting edge
prototypes supporting our current and future military.
The selected candidate will work at our customer site in Ft.
Belvoir, VA with a hybrid of both in office and remote work. The person in this
role will be responsible for development and integration of software application
or application components. Candidate must be within commuting distance to Ft.
Belvoir, VA. This is a hybrid work environment with both onsite client
and remote (at home) work. The specific details of the hybrid work
environment depend on the project requirements and timeline with the
expectation that you will be onsite for demonstrations, tests, key meetings and
other client required activities.
This is an exciting
opportunity for a successful applicant to support our customers and initiatives
supporting technology evaluations, engineering test bed and demonstration
events.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Contribute improvement and
design and implement enhances to software applications under development
- Support the integration and
testing activities of new technologies, technical solutions, and developed
capabilities
- Design, develop, test, and
employ research & development (R&D) and prototype new concepts
with scientific / engineering software for cloud, Linux and Windows
platforms
- Collaborate with and across
teams the planning, coordination, execution and documentation of system,
software, and field testing
- Effectively communicate project
status to include development, test, and risk, to higher level leadership
- Share your passion for staying
on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies
- Travel – up to 25%.
Requirements and
Qualifications:
- Bachelor\'s degree (B.S./B.A.)
in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science,
Mathematics or applicable engineering or science field – an additional 3+
years of relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- 2-5 years’ experience
developing software in C++, C, C#, Java, Python for actual
programs/projects (not academic).
- Strong object-oriented
programming skills and demonstrated knowledge of good software engineering
practices.
- Strong problem-solving,
troubleshooting and debugging skills, including the ability to readily
decompose complex problems into smaller, manageable tasks.
- Create, refine, and adhere to
formal software development processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work
both autonomously as well as with large and small teams of programmers.
- Excellent written and verbal
communication skills to include software documentation, user manuals, and
release notes.
- US Citizenship with the ability
to obtain a USG Secret clearance.
- Must be fully vaccinated
against COVID-19, except in limited circumstances where legally entitled
